What we look at

Eight areas of preventive care

Each area is worth a share of 100 points, weighted by how much it shapes a pet’s year. Vaccination, preventive vet visits and parasite cover carry the most, because they are the ones that turn into an emergency when they slip.

Core vaccinations20 pts: Review vaccination status with a licensed veterinarian and write down the next due date.
Preventive vet check15 pts: Plan a preventive veterinary check and ask what routine schedule suits your pet.
Parasite prevention15 pts: Ask your veterinarian which parasite prevention suits your pet, and set reminders for the due dates.
Dental and oral care10 pts: Add regular oral care at home, and raise dental checks with your veterinarian when appropriate.
Grooming and hygiene10 pts: Set a consistent grooming and hygiene routine that suits your pet.
Nutrition10 pts: Check that feeding is consistent and that the diet suits your pet's age and needs.
Activity and enrichment10 pts: Work regular, age-appropriate exercise and enrichment into the weekly routine.
Records and reminders10 pts: Organise vaccination, consultation, grooming and preventive-care records, and set reminders for what is next.
